Deepest Dreaming

Deepest Dreaming

Since its release last year I’ve been fascinated by Google’s ‘Deep Dream’ program; designed for detecting faces and objects within images it has now essentially been let loose. You can visit the site and upload an image in which it the software goes into some trippy feedback loop and imprints what it thinks it sees, which turns out to be lots of eyes and animals.

I’ve had some fun ‘Deep Dreaming’ pictures of friends and family, but I wondered what would happen if I started with one image and just kept uploading its last dreamed incarnation…

Well here are the results, I got a portrait of me and processed it through the software one thousand times. After about 300-400 times the effects lessen and the colours shift slightly, but there is some weirdness happening.
